Anyone having become addicted – with much of the population, it need not be said – to Mad Men, the award-winning television drama on AMC, has seen the world of advertising glamour depicted in the 1960s when the “big idea” was what everyone was after and those in the biz tried to keep professional pace with a world changing dramatically around them.
This is not the first time, nor will it be the last that the world of advertising is shown through the prism of glamour and sex appeal. There is a certain amount of appeal attached to such a creative environment in which big deals happen and the art of the sale is the primary focus. But anyone actually in the business knows that the world of advertising is anything but glamorous when you are in the trenches – doing the work to market a client on a day to day basis. It is nothing less than a combined effort between an agency and experts they bring to the table so that the goal of the greater picture is able to be achieved so as to appear – to the client anyway – completely seamless.
And here’s the thing; any agency that is not bringing online marketing to the table for their clients is seriously missing the boat and will likely lose them at some point. Businesses understand the value of a web site - but beyond that, if they are really savvy, they understand that their online presence will only grow to be more critical. Search engine optimization and other methods of online promotion are absolutely imperative to the process of marketing a business overall; which makes the role of the search engine optimization specialist a major component in today’s creative services.
